About Carmel-by-the-Sea Soap Co:
Carmel-by-the-Sea Soap Company was founded by Amanda Orloff and AJ Sanchez. The two met in Scottsdale, Arizona and have moved to AJ’s hometown of Monterey Bay where his family owns Bruno’s Market and Deli in beautiful & world-famous Carmel-by-the-Sea.

Mr. Sanchez had been inspired to make soap after hearing stories of his own grandmother making soap for his father and the rest of their family long ago. Finally, after months of experimentation and a few soap-making classes, Amanda and AJ got the idea off the ground and Carmel-by-the-Sea Soap Company was born.
"When we first started experimenting with soap-making we rendered our own fresh tallow from the butcher's counter at Bruno's Market. This is the traditional way to make soap from when soap-making was born and was the primary method most of our grandmother's used and is still widely used today. Most large companies make a tallow based soap. Carmel-by-the-Sea Soap Company uses sustainable practices and adheres to many green guidelines. Using local ingredients to make a local product cuts carbon emissions, as does using only natural ingredients."
TODAY, ALL OF OUR SOAPS ARE MADE WITH ONLY PURE VEGETABLE OILS.
Look for an eco-friendly tallow-blend line, soon.
We pride ourselves on making the highest quality product that some even consider art or say "it looks good enought to eat". Cutting edge technology married with old world methods make our soaps a one of a kind product. Men love this soap as well as women. I have been told that men love to shave with it and that women love the smell of the soaps on their husbands and boyfriends.
Carmel-by-the-Sea Soap Company offers charitable soaps as well; $1 donated to Susan G Komen per bar sold of the Pink Ribbon Soap, $1 donated to Animal Friends Rescue Project per bar sold of Woof N Wash and Posh Paws dog soaps. And our newest soap is the Green Golfer Soap, that contributes one dollar per sale to American Junior Golf Association. This small start-up company has made quite a splash in this small town and is quickly expanding. So try the soap and check out what its all about.
